TRIMBLE
Sup guys! Its me...the old one. Yes I know I look great....not a day past 39...despite observations to the contrary I am the oldest member of HV (we love you too Charles) 40 years young and still stopping paintballs! BTW I am the longest lasting member of the team as well...ok so I am tied with Phyllis, Jason, and Jeff of course! We all started the team with other assorted (or maybe that should be sorted) familly members about 7 years ago now. For those of you who dont know, Phyllis is my wife and truley my better half. Jason and Jeff are nephews who have been with me from almost the beginning. Some of you knew CB some did not ...for those of you who did not get a chance to meet and play against CB, it truley is your loss...hell of a kid and a great ball player!
Now the boring stuff.....started playing after I saw a magazine at the store. Went to my brother in laws in Alabama and played at a place called Splat Alley..DAMN...was I ever hooked! Came home and could not find a place to play so I figured I would start a place of my own to make a few bucks and meet some new players. Wrong on both parts! There is no money in paintball in small towns and all the players I already knew!
So in order to play more ball we figured out that tournamnets would be a good place to start. I never played competative sports when I was a kid but I have to say that as soon as one tourn is over I cant wait for the next one. At least when I started playing everyone had a chance to win as in the woods its brains that win the game...not speed.....speedball....get my drift? Speedball sucks!...sorry back to the story...It was the equality of the game that really kept me playing competitive paintball.
Any of you out there reading this that have not played paintball all I can say is it is not for everyone but DONT pass up the chance if you have not! Not only is it fun but it has reminded me that people are different but that does not make them bad. I have relationships with people now that I would not have given the time of day before just because they were younger or looked different (Freak, Curtis, you know I love you in the way only teammates understand!) and it also has given me the chance to re-establish my relationship with my nephews that I had not even seen in years....now I see them almost every day....so I guess what I am saying is that paintball is for everyone who still has a little kid in them wanting to play cowboys and indians.
To rap this mess up I would like to say that I have the best bunch of guys ANYWHERE in paintball...they are they kind of guys who have learned the hard lessons and know what it takes to play to the best of their ability and can still look themselves in the mirror when they get home and know they did all they could and did it with pride. They play to the max and always remember there are more important things in life than this stupid little game. They have or they are doing wonderful things to prepare themselves for life and I am proud of everyone of you guys and gals. I am proud to call you my team mates and friends and I am a better person for having had the chance to get to know each and everyone of you.
To my team...especially the "old timers" Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sticking with me all these years.
